The eagle has landed!

I guess you have to be as old as dirt like me to remember the famous quote: "the Eagle has landed" (Apollo 11, first manned spacecraft to land on the moon. You've probable read about it in history, but I watched it on TV!)... anyway... our ward had a GREAT idea. They wanted to do something for the boys that achieved their eagle, but never got recognized. Trent.. just like my other boys... was just glad the eagle thing was over and chose not to do the ceremony. So ... our ward had a big eagle court of honor for 6 boys... actually "young MEN"... they were all 18+! Trent "gladly" accepted the invitation (HA) and attended! Here is Trent by his display table before the ceremony... No pics of the ceremony... it was in the Chapel. But it was VERY nice! There were great talks and scout stuff and wonderful (and hilarious) impromptu thank you speeches by the eagles!
Here is Trent after the ceremony with his eagle pin and neckerchief. A guy in uniform... always a handome sight!

Woo Hoo!! we got parent pins!

Here is Trent with Brother Tate who was VERY instrumental in helping Trent get his eagle.(THANK YOU!!!!) Also a BIG thanks goes to Brother Brummett, Sister Tate, Brother Spencer, Brother LeSueur and many other leaders and Mike for his wood expertise.
So there ya have it... the eagle has landed... maybe not as historical as landing on the moon... but
still a pretty important event!

catchin up...

My bloggin is a little behind.. so it is catch up time! BUT..... it is WAY past my bedtime... AGAIN... so I will only get one post done and maybe tomorrow I will catch up on the rest. But I'm sure no one really cares about my ramblin on... (that's what happens when it's past my bedtime) ... so here's the latest craft night:

It was hair barrette night a few days ago again at Teresa's. This time we experimented with material.
Oh yeah... there were cute guys there too. Trent came along for fun but for some reason didn't want to craft... neither did Ty!

Teresa modeling some of our creations...

Dalin enjoyed craft night too, but he didn't craft either. Must be a guy thing.

Teresa and her boys.
Craft time is always fun. I wonder what craft will be next?!?

from Brazil

Here's the latest from our missionary/wedding planner!

Oí famíliaThe modeling looked hilarious! And also the t-shirt is good. This week a little girl from the branch got baptized she turned 8 on sat and we baptized her on sunday. Nothing much happened this week again. Our attendence has been going down so we´ve been visiting alot of less active´s this week. My comp had his last interview with president this week so his mission is pretty much overwith. the rainy season has officially started. We were at a non-member´s house sunday night with the branch president and other members and it started to rain and hasn´t stopped. I have to buy another umbrella because i left mine at my last house. We are helping a lady plan her wedding in 2 weeks. Last week we got her to send all the papers but we forgot about the reception. Her wedding and baptism are on the 5th of september and we have just about nothing planned for her. That´s aout all the going on here, really busy. I still haven´t got any packages. any other questions? I don´t have to take a shower with a bucket. There´s a big tub on top of our house and that water goes to the shower and other stuff in the house. Like in new york, there´s water on top of the buildings and gravity is the pressure. Any more news from you guys? Have you guys heard about a church that used the tithing money to open businesses in the u.s.? that´s been a big deal here these past few weeks. And also, some member of ours came to church with that swine flu. Last month the flu got to anápolis and the dude´s kid got it and passed it to him and then he went to church and passed it to who knows how many other people. I sure hope i don´t get it. See you all later. Elder Lewis

Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary to me and Mike!! Today we celebrate being sealed in the temple 2 years ago! Poor Mike... he has to remember so many dates.... day we got sealed... day we met... day we got married... birthdays... etc... But of course he remembered (but nothing wrong with tossing out a few hints!) and got me yummy candy and I made him a pretty and yummy breakfast.
Nothings too good for my sweetie... I got out the milk glass dishes and gold silverware

Asparagus mushroom omeletes, hash browns, toast and eternal circle donuts... I had to throw in a little symbolism! Happy anniversary to my forever buddy!

and more friends...
on stage... this group modeled stuff from Anchor Blue
The WALK...
The POSE...
The WALK back... His group got to come back out later and model?/hold an item from Best Buy

Of course his modeling debut wouldn't be complete without his Zoolander pose. (If you haven't seen Zoolander... don't bother... you can see from this "face" that you're not missing much!).
So that was his few minutes of fame... but ... NEWS FLASH... he got a phone call and he gets to model somewhere else next month! It would be even better if he would get paid for this!
So if you enjoyed the pics and want to see MORE ... OR have nothing else to do ...watch the video...

craft night again...

Last night I had another craft night! This time with Teresa. She wanted to make the cute flower barrettes that everyone is wearing.
Teresa got all the stuff... I brought the rice krispie treats... ya HAVE to have treats when crafting... ya HAVE to have sugar when staying up late!
Teresa did all the work...

I talked and watched the boys play!

One of the finished products... isn't it pretty?!? but wow... am I tired! I've been up past 9:00 TWO nights in a row! But before anyone comments on THAT... it's cuz I get up at 4 and it's definitely NOT cuz I'm OLD or anything!

Mom & Trent craft night!

It's late and it's WAY past my bedtime... but Trent wanted to craft... well not REALLY craft... but he saw a T-shirt on the internet that he wanted but did NOT want to spend the money (THAT'S my boy)... so he went to WalMart and bought the supplies... so while the brownies were baking... (he wanted brownies too) we made his shirt. Trent getting everything ready... just look at that precision!
Mom giving a little expert touch...

TOUCH ME NOT FOR I HAVE NOT YET GONE ON MY MISSION
The finished product.... OK... I helped make his shirt... but I did NOT give any advice on the rest of the outfit... maybe I should have... so he is off to the movies now... I'm off to bed... and the brownies were GREAT!! I love craft nights!

from Brazil...

Here's the latest from Brazil... pretty short... I think I'm gonna have to tell him to write MORE details! I mean ... how did that lady get killed?!? But, I'm excited to hear he gained a little weight!

Oí familia.this week we didn´t baptize. Nothing much happened this week. The only thing i really remember is that two people died on sunday. Two ladies, one died from old age and the other killed. This week i ate some delicious pizza at a members house again. I haven´t gained much weight on the mission, probably 5-10 pounds. Our house isn´t exciting, it has just about nothing inside. Just our desk, bunkbeds, a closet thing, and a couple chairs. My comp got all his flight plans and stuff this week so that was kind of rough on him. We also talked to our branch president this week and he is going to change a bunch of leaders because the branch is not retaining any of the baptisms. We are just working hard here too. Next week we should have a baptism. Any more questions? See you all later. Elder Lewis

newest upcoming model!!!!

A lot of you have already heard.... but we have a upcoming model at our house!!! Watch out Zoolander... cuz Trent is having his modeling debut this Saturday, the 22nd at Fiesta Mall. If you want to see his few minutes of fame... be there at the center court at 1:00pm. If ya can't make it, you know there will be PLENTY of pics on my blog afterwards. Here is his picture before the tryout... I think the dimples and nice hairdo worked (thanks Teresa for his great haircut and highlights!) There are a lot of giggles (and jokes) at our house right now. We're excited... but it's just TOO funny!

from Brazil...

Here's the latest from our missionary. Looks like I better be shoe shopping soon!

Oí família
This week was a good week, we baptized again! The picture it not very good, he looks like a prisoner. But he´s a good kid and we also re activated two of his younger brothers that were baptized a while ago. His name is Paulo Henrique and he´s 19 and we´re helping him out so that he can go on a mission in a year. The other pic is a little stream we found going to a reference. The river is bigger in other parts of our area because peole are always talking about fishing at the river. But this is the part we came across the other day. Most of our area is not paved roads, as you can see from my shoes. Everyday we have tons of dust all over our shoes. My last area was the same way too. This morning was a bummer. An investigator agreed to get married and everything, but when we got to the center where we met her, she lost all of her documents. She left her folder in the bus and who knows where it is now. Somehow she has to get all the stuff back because she really wants to get baptized but she has to get married first. Satan is one smart guy, she has a big desire to get baptized but without papers we can´t do anything. Nothing really exciting happened this week. I gave a talk again in church, with about 10 min notice, this has happened many times these past months.Since you want to know a little more about my area here you go. My area is really big, it takes over an hour to walk form one side to the other. It also has alot of hills. It is a poor area with no roads and alot of drug dealers. One member knows how to make pizza american style and it is deliciuos. Pizza brazilian stlye is absolutly disgusting. A river passes through our area. We live on top of a supermarket. Thats about it. Anymore questions? See you all later. Tchau Elder Lewis

Purple cauliflower...

I stopped at my favorite veggie store (Superstition Ranch Market) after work yesterday. Everytime I go they have something different (remember the brussell sprout tree?). THIS time... along with all the yummy fruits and veggies I got ... I also bought this: It's a purple cauliflower! I LOVE cauliflower... Mikes does NOT like cauliflower. I had my choice of orange, white or purple. Hmmm... are veggies coming in designer colors now?!? Anyway... I picked a pretty one and brought it home. All along I was thinking... maybe Mike won't realize it's a cauliflower... maybe I can convince him it's a broccoli or something. I even bought some great chilis to distract him. BUT it didn't work... as soon as he saw it he said YUK cauliflower.
(he also said YUK to the great fresh beets I bought too) But I will perservere and when I cook it I will try to get him to taste it. I think it will be great smothered with some orange cheese on top.... purple and orange... Hmmm... this is good... it will remind him of sports! Maybe I'll wear a Jersey too!

from Brazil...

Here's the latest form Brazil:
oí família
We had a baptism this week! It´s good that i got this lovely present because i left two baptisms in my last area. I´m getting used to walking alot again because my last area was tiny and this one is huge. It also has a ton of hills. ...I found out that my comp is from fortaleza, a city way at the top of brazil. Also, this is his last area, his last transfer and i´m his last comp. He´s cool, he´s pretty trunky because he only has a month left. I´ll have to take some pics of the area for you guys, it´s really pretty. At night there´s a spot that we can see the city really good with all the lights and everything. Our chapel is not an old resturaunt, now it´s an actual building. The attendance is about 50 people so it´s about double than my last area. I´m still healthy and going good. We will baptize next week too so until then. Tchau Elder Lewis

We are MEN,Manly MEN...

Trent has a movie called "Robin Hood , men in tights" (I think that's the title). We watched it and I didn't think it was very funny or even very good.... EXCEPT... one scene... All of Robin Hoods merry men are singing (and dancing AND wearing tights) "We are MEN, manly MEN... and it was hilarious. So occassionaly at our house something will remind me of that song. So with that being said... Here are pics of some of my MANLY men going to the shooting range.

I took the two pics before they left and I handed them the camera and said.. "Takes some pics at the range" and they said "OK"... Well... I didn't clarify "SOME" ... and I got two pics. I guess it isn't MANLY to take pictures at the shooting range. But I like the ones they took... they look so cute... um.... I mean... MANLY!

Party...

We had another family party Friday night...Cuz Dustin was here for a couple days..Cuz Jadon is home from the hospital... Cuz we like to get together...
So we all gathered at Jaron & Kristin's house...
for food...

and fun...
and food...

and fun...

And more fun... after eating yummy chili dogs, we piled in cars and headed out to ride Trent's go cart.
everyone is excited!

That go cart is HEAVY! Good thing Krislin lent a helping hand!
Everyone is ready to ride! But when we pulled the string to start it up... it BROKE! So we got some tools... but couldn't get it going...
so we loaded it back up...

And headed back to the house to eat banana splits! Great times... Great funny experiences to retell over and over!

About Me

My photo
Hi there everyone! I've noticed that a lot of people have a little life story on their blogs. So, always wanting to keep up with the latest BLOG trends, I've decided to put on a little blurb about my life for anyone that's interested. BUT, so no one is bored or has heard it all, I've put MY LIFE in ORIGINAL story form... Once upon a time there was a brown eyed girl, born of goodly parents, who set out on a journey. She traveled for a very VERY long time, through desert, mountains and forests and along the way she brought with her 6 wonderful treasures. But, alas, there were dark times, battles and dragons along the way, but she kept on going, with her treasures giving her strength and direction. Then in the desert, she met a blue eyed handsome prince, who had also been on a long long journey, and he had 2 treasures. So as you might have already guessed the ending.... the brown eyed girl and the blue eyed prince along with their treasures and a bunch more treasures, lived very happily ever after! Life is GOOD! It's party time now!
