What a great Sunday!

Sunday, Brandon spoke in Church. He did so good. His talk was based on a priesthood talk from last April about Knowing Yourself. I loved his analogy of prayer.... It's like talking on a phone... the more we talk to Heavenly Father, the better He gets to know who we are and the better we get to know Him. After church we gathered at our house for our annual Halloweeny dinner... Some of the menu items included bloody bat wings, mummy dogs, skeleton ribs, graveyard grass, pumpkin poop, pupils, eyes, blood, bat kidneys, chopped vein salad and a sludge fountain! Thanks to Krislin for the food signs. After our yummy meal, we surprised Brandon with presents! I think he was REALLY surprised when they all turned out to be ties! And Kristin surprised him with a cool missionary plaque. It was a GREAT Sunday! Elder Lewis

Update on Brandon

Some people have asked about Brandon and when and where and all that. Brandon gives his talk in church tomorrow morning because next week is Stake conference. Then he leaves on Tuesday the 4th and goes straight to the MTC in Brazil. If anyone would like to leave him a message, just leave it on this blog and he will get it. We know he will do great and it will be a fantastic experience and we're all excited for him!

Quick Trip

Zoooom whooooosh..... Wow.... that was a quick trip.... I flew to Nashville yesterday and flew home today!!! Almost faster than a speeding bullet! Really.... I went there to help Aimee and the girls fly out here to be with family for a little while. Aside from the amount of stuff ya have to bring for two young ones, the trip was a breeze and the girls were perfect! Another fun thing about this quick trip was that I got to see Kristin work. I flew over on her flight. She was so cute. And...another fun thing... on our flight was the Chef that is on the Food network and does Drive-ins, Diners and Dives. I actually new who he was and recognized him... but Kristin got an autographed picture! And another cool thing about this quick trip was the rain and the small amount of fall leaves.... hey we don't see either of those things much in Arizona...... So even for a short trip it was way fun!....But.... there was one weird thing.... So ....uh.... hmmmmm.... words don't describe it.. the carpet in the Holiday Inn.... See for yourself...

State Fair!

Saturday afternoon, me Mike and Brandon moseyed on over to the state fair. It was fun and the evening weather was perfect. We watched the figure eight car racing... it was great smashin up fun! We saw animals... it's not just cows and chickens anymore! Camels, emus, yaks, scottish cattle, ostriches, giraffe, elephants .... yep, good ol farm animals. The fair, is about the same as always, except bigger and more costly... not too many quilts and dried up loaves of bread as there used to be. BUT... there is one thing I still look forward to and is almost the WHOLE reason I like to go to the fair.... FAIR FOOD!!!! There's just not enough hours to eat all the fair food that is available... but we did pretty good in 6 hours... fry bread, BBQ sandwiches with cole slaw and beans, turkey leg, funnel cake, ice cream bar, banana split and a bunch of fresh squeezed lemonade! YUM!

Fall memories...

I just love fall... and fall is wonderful in Arizona... but fall is absolutely great in Utah. So I have been remembering that a year ago this week we were in Utah enjoying some crisp fall weather and beautiful colors and festive decorations. Here are a couple of pics from last October since it was BB... before blogging for me. These were taken at one of my favoritest places... Gardner Village. Sigh... this year I have to be content with Arizona fall... sigh again...

It's that time of the year....

It's fall time.... and you know what that means.... Yep.... CARMEL APPLES! I made some today and we gobbled them up! Really easy to make.... just follow the directions on the Kraft carmel bag, then roll in you favorite stuff (we like chopped nuts) and then to be fancy drizzle on some melted chocolate. Way yum!

Everyone was creative... we made Boo, Eek, Gobble, Thankful, Thanks... I know I'm gonna make some more. A great BIG thanks to Mike for his great woodworking skills and being on call for our special orders! And thanks to everyone that brought yummy food and snacks... girls can't craft without food... that's just a fact!!

Another step closer

Brandon took a big step closer to his mission Wednesday night and went to the temple. He looked sooo nice dressed in white ( I really want to say cute, but I'm holding back!) Mike was his escort and family and friends joined him. It was a very sweet experience and everything went smoothly.

We lingered for a while at the temple to enjoy the moment, so it was very late when we went to dinner. Well... late for me and Mike... but we made it! The whole evening was great! And.... as I have been known to say on many occassions.... Life is good!

About Me

My photo
Hi there everyone! I've noticed that a lot of people have a little life story on their blogs. So, always wanting to keep up with the latest BLOG trends, I've decided to put on a little blurb about my life for anyone that's interested. BUT, so no one is bored or has heard it all, I've put MY LIFE in ORIGINAL story form... Once upon a time there was a brown eyed girl, born of goodly parents, who set out on a journey. She traveled for a very VERY long time, through desert, mountains and forests and along the way she brought with her 6 wonderful treasures. But, alas, there were dark times, battles and dragons along the way, but she kept on going, with her treasures giving her strength and direction. Then in the desert, she met a blue eyed handsome prince, who had also been on a long long journey, and he had 2 treasures. So as you might have already guessed the ending.... the brown eyed girl and the blue eyed prince along with their treasures and a bunch more treasures, lived very happily ever after! Life is GOOD! It's party time now!
